Leopard - all permits in Namibia withdrawn!

  • I just had news that all permits for leopard hunting in Namibia has been withdrawn. This could have some very bad consequences for those outfitters in Namibia who have sold leopard hunts. I know of one outfitter who booked 16 hunts, have done 4 so far, but stand to loose thousands because of the other 12 that still had to take place. Namibia did the same thing last year with cheetah hunting

    Andreas The way I have it is that there is a CITES quota in each country for these animals. In the past Namibia issued more permits than their quota because it was never filled. However last year they actually hunted more leopard than their quota and had to...  more

    blakemuil Hi Cobus, I have also heard the same thing but just being told that it was not all the permits only some permits have being withdrawn, I would like to be able to confirm it.
